| perspective. sometimes it takes time to put things in perspective. it's hard sometimes but when you step back and look at what's happening, you realize some things don't really matter as much as you thought. some things that you hoped were being portrayed were not, but then you think about why they were not and realize that even if they're not portrayed like you thought, sometimes it doesn't have to matter. you put your hopes in things that you thought were important, and they very well may still be, but you don't have to worry so much about it. you realize that you may think you know what you want, but it is rarely also what you need. that door will be opened if it is supposed to be opened, or something else may pop up to take its place. you take on what you can control, and don't worry about what you can't. you hope for the best of course, but then you just let it be. i wonder what it would be like to watch life as a movie sometimes. this would definitely include theme music, some unforseeable plot, actualities that are definitely stranger than fiction, the optional commentary by james earl jones for i believe he has the most recognizeable and identifiable voice on the planet, and if we were ever to speak to aliens that come knocking, i would want him to speak for the earth. what would he say though? maybe he would voice the opinions of his own thoughts or maybe those of God, maybe he would say what you wanted him to hear, or possibly there would be several points of view putting it all in perspective. would anybody watch that type of movie? would you only be allowed to watch your own movie? i'm not quite sure how that would all work out. i guess this is one of the things that i can think on and wonder and do no more with. not bad since it's a pretty crazy thought. ever feel like you're waiting for something? i can't stand the feeling. it makes one feel helpless and out of control when you should be able to do something but can't. sometimes, in futility, you try to to make something happen, but it doesn't work and you just end up waiting around for something that you can't even remember. you do things for reasons that you can't explain and then wonder at the reaction. situations like that remind me about seeing the other side of the coin. perspective if you will. those times call for several steps back with time to think. you think on everything that you do, and why, and realize that you don't need to try so hard. it is okay to let go of things and focus on what you find truly matters. you need faith that things will still work, even without the piece that you thought was the key. faith. | | |

“On My Yellow Divine”
To you, my wooden shaft of might
My best companion as I write
Filled with graphite, number two
Always sharp, through and through
The prime of twelve, so tightly packed
When placed in water, you refract
Joined, inseparable, with your companion pink
You reign supreme over all things ink
My Staples HB Two, you complete me
For you, my hand is yours completely
sweet 16
I think we all know why she's smiling
The gorgeous sunrise (at the OBX of course)
post tropical storm alberto gigunto waves, my uncle chris and me
I hope you enjoyed the show.

| Off to Gatlinburg, my favorite place in the world. | | |
| Well, I made it to '06. Hopefully it will be a year of success on many fronts. I've started running again and its been decent so far. I'm glad to be able to run. I got a new digital video camera for Christmas, and now I can make neato movies. psat scores came in, didn't make the 3000th percentile like some people I know, but I was happy nonetheless. Holiday baked goods should be made all year round. The delectable goodness that comes from everything baked during the holidays will disappear for another year, but man was it great while it lasted. I wish I had a diving board in my room. Then...I could... dive into things... I want to win a contest right now. If anybody is having a contest, I want to contest. As a trip to England may soon be in effect, I figure I should brush up on my English equivalents to Americanized words. Ironmonger- hardware store. Not too bad. Cheerio. | | |
| Liz's last night was a quality time. my break so far has been excellent and will only continue to improve as relaxation exponentially rises. Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.
